Before becoming a therapist, I was a nurse. I loved caring for my patients, but some of the most meaningful parts of my work happened beyond their immediate medical needs. Whether I was supporting a family through the loss of a loved one or sitting with an overwhelmed mother while caring for her child, I found myself just as invested in the emotional well-being of the people around my patients.
Jamie Cagle, M.A., LPC Associate
A therapist who cares beyond the clinical.
As a nurse, I wanted to understand what life looked like outside the appointment, how families were coping, and what happened after they went home. That same curiosity and compassion led me into counseling. As a therapist, I'm still just as invested in the person sitting across from me and the life she's navigating outside our sessions.
Through my years of clinical training, and my own life experiences, I've developed a deeper understanding of the challenges women navigate and how valuable it can be to have someone genuinely in their corner.
I've always believed that caring for someone means seeing the whole person, not just their symptoms or circumstances.
Somewhere they can step away from the expectations, responsibilities, and pressures of everyday life and have the freedom to focus on themselves, without feeling guilty for it.
The name Her Haven reflects exactly what I hope this space can be: a place of refuge, comfort, and support through life's most difficult and transformative seasons. A place where you can take a moment for yourself, find your footing, and move forward on your own terms.
Whether you're navigating motherhood, relationships, loss, or a life that looks nothing like you expected, Her Haven was created with you in mind.
The story behind Her Haven
I wanted Her Haven to feel different. Every detail was chosen to create an environment that feels welcoming and comfortable, from the soft lighting and natural textures to the furniture, artwork, and little touches that make a space feel like home. It's a space that feels calming without feeling clinical, beautiful without feeling intimidating, and feminine without feeling fragile. There is no expectation that you walk in polished and perfectly put together. Take your shoes off, wrap up in a blanket, laugh, cry, sit quietly, or say the thing you've been afraid to say out loud. You are allowed to take up space here.
Therapy can already feel intimidating. Walking into a sterile office shouldn’t create another layer of distance.
A space designed with intention.
No two women walk through my door with the same story, experiences, or needs, so why would I approach their care the same way? Therapy is a collaborative process, and I believe the best work happens when we approach it as a team.
My work is trauma-informed and integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered, and existential approaches. But I don't believe in forcing every client into a particular method. I tailor our work to you, combining evidence-based strategies with genuine connection, honest conversations, and practical tools that make sense for your life.
You can expect me to show up as myself: genuine, relatable, and professional, but never overly formal. I'm not afraid of a little dark humor, sharing a laugh, or sitting on the floor with you if that's where you're most comfortable. And if you're a new mom who needs someone to hold the baby while you take a moment to yourself, I'm happy to help.
Some sessions might involve working through difficult emotions, challenging old patterns, or learning new ways to cope. Others might be about finding your voice, making a difficult decision, or simply having space to process something you haven't been able to admit to yourself. Whatever the work looks like, we'll approach it with intention and adjust along the way as your needs evolve.
I don't practice a one-size-fits-all approach.
My approach to therapy
I'm a wife, over-stimulated mom, oldest daughter, favorite grandchild (confirmed, obviously), slightly overbearing sister, and the friend you can always count on. I'm a perfectionist with a Type A brain and a surprising number of Type B tendencies. I speak fluent sarcasm, and I'm a girls' girl through and through.
I've experienced my own share of unexpected turns, growing pains, and seasons that didn't go according to plan. They've taught me a lot about myself, relationships, and the importance of having good people in your corner. I'm still learning, still growing, and regularly reminded that having a counseling degree doesn't mean having life figured out.
